Dendroanatomy

Tree rings are composed of wood cells divided from cambial cells. The size of cells is related to the environmental conditions that influence their development. TRRC is trying to find various environmental information from the sizes of wood cell diameter, lumen diameter or area, or cell-wall thickness, which is difficult to find the information from tree-ring widths, and conducting studies focusing on the topics below.

  • Relationships between the vessel areas of ring-porous woods and      climatic factors

  • Relationships between the sizes of tracheid parameters (lumen or cell diameters or cell-wall thickness)
